Operational Notes
  • Sterilize temperature ≤ 135 °C (Improved type ≤ 155 °C). If the temperature is over 135 °C, the motor will be damaged.
  • Normal bone drill can only hold drill bits less than 6 mm. Reaming drill works with big torque (rpm around 300), hollow drill is used with nail or K wire (rpm around 600).
  • The battery needs to be removed from the power tool after surgery. Otherwise, the small automatic discharge of the electricity will shorten the battery lifespan.
  • The battery cannot be sterilized; it is not resistant to high temperatures.
  • The cranial bur must be washed right after the surgery with a purger in order to avoid blood sticking in the bur, then kept dry.
  • The battery space in the handpiece of the tool should not contain any water after sterilization.
  • The cranial bur blade is made of medical stainless steel. To avoid breakage, it is designed to be flexible and not extremely hard. Since it wears out easily, we suggest using each blade for only one surgery.

FAQ
FAQ Graphic
Q: What is the maximum sterilization temperature for the Bohrsägensystem?
The maximum sterilization temperature is ≤ 135 °C (improved models can withstand ≤ 155 °C). Exceeding 135 °C may lead to permanent motor damage.
Q: Can the device battery be sterilized under high temperatures?
No, the battery is not resistant to high temperatures and cannot be sterilized. Please ensure it is removed before any sterilization process.
Q: Why must the battery be removed from the handpiece after surgery?
Leaving the battery inside the tool leads to a slow automatic discharge, which can significantly shorten the overall lifespan of the battery.
Q: How should the cranial bur be maintained and cleaned?
It must be washed immediately after the surgery with a purger to prevent blood from sticking inside the bur, and then dried thoroughly. Additionally, ensure no water remains in the battery compartment of the handpiece after sterilization.
Q: How many times can a single cranial bur blade be used?
The cranial bur blade is made of flexible medical stainless steel and is susceptible to wear-and-tear. To ensure optimal performance and safety, it is highly recommended to use each blade for only one surgical procedure.
Q: What are the specifications for different drill attachments?
A normal bone drill holds drill bits under 6 mm. A reaming drill operates with high torque at approximately 300 rpm, and a hollow drill is used with K-wires or nails at approximately 600 rpm.
